Day 01 Day 02 Day 03 Day 04 Day 05 Day 06 Day 01 - Arrive in Siem Reap Upon arrival, when you leave the airport terminal please look for a tour guide displaying a welcome signboard with your name on it. Transferring (approx. 30mins) to your hotel for check-in and relax. This afternoon, visit the Roulous temple group, the oldest Khmer monuments in the area. Witness the evolution of these magnificent temples from the early days of the Khmer empire up to its peak with the Angkor temples in the 13th century. You will peacefully explore the temples and soak up the local atmosphere away from the crowds. Day 02 - Siem Reap After breakfast, drive to the stunning royal city Angkor Thom, the stunning Bayon temple, the three-tiered temple mountain of Baphuon temple within the Royal Palace enclosure that connects with the Elephant Terrace, Phimaanakas Temple and finishing at the Terrace of the Leper King. Visit to one of the wonders of the modern world, the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat. You will be led by a Cambodian scholar who will help you to get a better understanding of Khmer history, culture, archaeology and civilization. Then, take a tethered helium balloon from the plains to witness sunset over the temple and jungle. This evening, have a simple home-cooked dinner with a typical Khmer family and interact with family members. Day 03 - Siem Reap After breakfast, visit one of the most beautiful pagodas in town for a good luck blessing ceremony, performed by local monks. Afterwards, visit the massive Preah Kahn Temple, on the Grand Circuit and not as crowded as others in the Angkor complex so you should have this magnificent structure to appreciate in relative peace. Next stop is Neak Pean, an artificial island with a Buddhist temple on it. Mid-afternoon, visit the beautiful Ta Prohm temple, one of Angkor’s jewels. Finish your day with a visit to Sras Srang and stay there late for sunset. Day 04 - Siem Reap / Phnom Penh Take the morning flight to Phnom Penh. This afternoon, start your journey with a visit The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, two of the most striking buildings in the capital and considered as some of the finest examples of Khmer architecture. Then, visit Wat Preah Keo Morokat, where Royal ceremonies are performed. Continue to visit the Russian market and end the trip with a visit of the Wat Phnom Temple, Phnom Penh’s namesake, from where you can enjoy views over the tree-lined avenues of Phnom Penh during sunset. Day 05 - Phnom Penh Morning, drive to a rural outskirt of Phnom Penh where you will have a day studying about Buddhism and vegetarianism at a local pagoda. You will be led to visit their organic garden and a mini parrot park where a hundred of these colorful creatures are raised by the abbot. Then join with the monks in a special cooking class with all animal-free ingredients, followed by a timid lunch with these veggie delights. * Optional activity will be a short course of meditation practice introduced by one of the monks here. Day 06 - Phnom Penh departure via flight Check-out of your hotel no later than 12:00 noon and transfer (approx. 30mins) to the airport for your onward flight to next destination or returns your home.
