Board a local train in Yangon that runs on a loop from the main railway station through various neighborhoods. Observe the colorful and rural life outside of the city centre and strike up a conversation with the locals on board. There is no air conditioning. The locals carry anything from market wares to household items on board, making the ride even more interesting. Then, get off at Hledan station and visit Hledan market. Stroll around the market and you will have a chance to taste Burmese tea and local snacks in a local café shop. Visit the Bogyoke Market then head to the Indian quarter for a different view of the city.
