THAILAND - CAMBODIA ITINERARY 12D11N

Day 01 - Arrive in Bangkok

 

Upon arrival, you clear the customs formalities yourself. When you leave the airport terminal, please proceed to GATE B or GATE C and look for Door 6 where our English-speaking guide is waiting for you and holding a sign with your names on it. Embark the comfortable vehicle for transferring (approx. 45mins) to your hotel for check-in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 02 - Bangkok


Wake up early this morning, and visit Wat Po in time to experience the monks’ morning chanting ritual


Followed by a short but exciting ride on Bangkok’s Tuk Tuk to Royal Grand Palace - the most important and impressive royal palace in Thailand and do not miss the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand. 


Then, board an exclusive hot ride “007” long tailed boat to have a first-hand experience of Bangkokian’s local life style along the small canals of Thonburi. The water journey passing through Wat Arun or called Temple of Dawn, one of the cities earliest temples, now often used as a symbol of the city & the country. 

 

Early evening, drive to China Town for local street food tasting. There are thousands of street food stalls which make Bangkok one of the yummiest town for visitors.

Day 03 - Bangkok

 

This morning, drive 1.5-hour to visit the Railway Track Market. It's a kind of unique experience as you will see the vendors quickly pack up their stores as the train approaches the tracks. 

 

Then continue to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, stepping back in time to experience the traditional way farmers would trade their produce. The canals are lined with boats that are paddled by local women and piled high with vegetables, fruit and even souvenirs for the tourists. Sit back and soak up the atmosphere as the locals go about their daily life and entertain you with their haggling techniques.

Day 04 - Bangkok / Siem Reap via flight

 

After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and transfer (approx. 45mins) to Suvarnabhumi Airport for morning flight to Siem Reap.

Upon arrival, when you leave the airport terminal please look for a tour guide displaying a welcome signboard with your name on it. Transferring (approx. 30mins) to your hotel for check-in and relax a bit.


Early evening, take part in a good luck blessing ceremony, performed by local monks at a local pagoda. Then, explore Siem Reap night by tuk tuk to experience Cambodia's nightlife. Walking through the food markets, enjoy dinner with local beers in beer garden, insect salad with cocktail, visit night markets, and beer in nice bar at Pub Street.

Day 05 - Siem Reap

 

Wake up early this morning and drive to the famous Angkor Wat, one of the modern wonders of the world for sunrise. 

 

After breakfast, visit to the picturesque Ta Prohm. This beautiful temple is overgrown with fig trees, giving a haunting yet exotic atmosphere. Continue your journey to the royal city of Angkor Thom, Elephant Terrace and the Leper King Terrace with perfect carvings winding along a narrow passage way.

 

Followed by taking a gondola boat onto the Tonle Oum leading to the south gate along with red and white wine and snacks during the sun is setting down behind the surrounding jungle.

 

This evening, enjoy dinner with Apsara dance performance

Day 06 - Siem Reap

 

Today, transfer out of the Siem Reap town to a beautiful village in the countryside, witness with very nice and different activities from the locals for their daily life. 

 

Enjoy a 30-minute ox-cart ride through the rice paddies to reach to your van for driving back to the town


Visit the Angkor Silk Farm in Siem Reap that is an extensive and well documented foundation that gives excellent insight into how silk is traditionally made in Cambodia.

Day 04 - Siem Reap / Chiang Rai via flight

 

Transfer (approx. 30mins) to Siem Reap Airport for flight back to Bangkok and then, take the connecting flight to Chiang Rai. 


Visit Bandaam Museum that includes nearly 40 small black houses made of wood, glass, concrete, bricks, or terracotta in various unique styles and design scattered around the temple area. The cluster of houses accommodate its owner's collections of paintings, sculptures, animal bones, skins, horns, and silver and gold items from around the world.

Day 08 - Chiang Rai

 

Start your day with a visiting the exact spot where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet, now worldwide known as The Golden Triangle. It used to be the area where an extensive trade of opium and papaver between these three neighboring countries. Continue your journey to Chiang Sean, the historical city and Mae Sai, a small trading town right on The Thailand – Myanmar border and known as the “Northern most point of Thailand.” After lunch, visit Doi Tung, a major environmental and socio-economic development project and Wat Phrathat Doi Tung, you probably will see variety of hill tribes on the way and can make a stop for pictures.

Day 09 - Chiang Rai / Chiang Mai

 

After breakfast, drive overland to Chiang Mai. En-route, enjoy a magnificent 2-hour long tailed boat ride over the Mae Kok River that ends with a visit to a traditional Karen Hill Tribe Village to observe their unique lifestyles and then, board the boat again for a short trip to a local hot springs. Lunch will be served 

 

Check-in your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure

Day 10 - Chiang Mai

 

Early morning, enjoy champagne balloon flight. After a tranquil flight of approximately one hour, you will land wherever the wind has brought you. Upon landing you will be congratulated with a champagne style breakfast served at the landing site. 

 

Then, visit to Wat Suan Dok where ashes of former Kings of Chiang Mai and the Royal Family are kept. Take a 20 minutes rickshaw ride to a local temple and have an opportunity to talk with the monk about all aspects of his religion. Lunch break by experience with one of Chiang Mai specialties dishes - Khao Soi at an authentic local restaurant.   

 

Late this afternoon, you will visit Ruamchook Market with a local chef and have a private hands-on cooking experience at his Organic Farm. Then, enjoy the dishes your have prepared during the cooking time.

Day 11 - Chiang Mai

 

Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby around 8:00 a.m. Transfer to an Elephant Camp. Our acquaintance with these gentle beasts is made in feeding them bananas, which is followed by bath time in the River Ping. A perfect sets for some spectacular photos. An interesting demonstration of the elephant’s logging skill follows. Next you have an exciting trek on elephant back through the jungle and then board bamboo rafts for an hour relaxing float down the river. Simple lunch will be served in the Elephant camp.

 

Followed by a visit Lisu village, Akha village, the most beautiful women's head wears, decorated with assorted coins, shell and animal's fur. Visit Lahu tribe, very expert in hunting. End your trip at Palong Village where the local villagers wear beautiful costume, women wear belt, made of rattan, sometimes lacquer with silver.

Day 12 - Chiang Mai departure via flight

 

Check-out of your hotel no later than 12:00 noon and transfer (approx. 10mins) to the airport for your onward flight to next destination or returns your home.
