THAILAND - CAMBODIA ITINERARY 9D8N

Day 01 - Arrive in Bangkok

 

Upon arrival, you clear the customs formalities yourself. When you leave the airport terminal, please proceed to GATE B or GATE C and look for Door 6 where our English-speaking guide is waiting for you and holding a sign with your names on it. Embark the comfortable vehicle for transferring (approx. 45mins) to your hotel for check-in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 02 - Bangkok


Wake up early this morning, and visit Wat Po in time to experience the monks’ morning chanting ritual


Followed by a short but exciting ride on Bangkok’s Tuk Tuk to Royal Grand Palace - the most important and impressive royal palace in Thailand and do not miss the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand. 


Then, board an exclusive hot ride “007” long tailed boat to have a first-hand experience of Bangkokian’s local life style along the small canals of Thonburi. The water journey passing through Wat Arun or called Temple of Dawn, one of the cities earliest temples, now often used as a symbol of the city & the country. 

 

Early evening, drive to China Town for local street food tasting. There are thousands of street food stalls which make Bangkok one of the yummiest town for visitors.

Day 03 - Bangkok

 

This morning, drive 1.5-hour to visit the Railway Track Market. It's a kind of unique experience as you will see the vendors quickly pack up their stores as the train approaches the tracks. 

 

Then continue to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, stepping back in time to experience the traditional way farmers would trade their produce. The canals are lined with boats that are paddled by local women and piled high with vegetables, fruit and even souvenirs for the tourists. Sit back and soak up the atmosphere as the locals go about their daily life and entertain you with their haggling techniques. 

 

After lunch, ride along quiet country back roads, plantation trails and unpaved flat roads. You’ll see grapes, lychee, pomelo and coconuts growing in trees and plants, ready to be harvested. Then, cross the river to the Amphawa market to witness the local trading activities before heading back to Bangkok.

Day 04 - Bangkok / Kanchanaburi

 

Morning, transfer (approx. 2.5hours) to Kanchanaburi. A trip back into more recent history with a memorable day out to the River Kwai and its famous bridge. Take a historic Death Railway Train through magnificent scenery, passing over original wooden viaduct constructed by Allied POWs. An authentic Thai lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Then continue to Lawa Cave that is about 50 meters from the riverside of Kwai Noi River.  It is the biggest cave of this area and the stalactites and stalagmites inside are very nice. 


At 7:00 p.m., dinner will be served in your hotel and followed by a 45–minute presentation of traditional Mon Dance.

Day 05 - River Kwai

 

Visit to Srinakarin Lake. We’ll board a ferry for ride across the lake, enjoying spectacular vistas of lake, limestone formations and jungle. We’ll then enter Kanchanaburi’s Erawan National Park where we’ll explore the famous seven tiered Erawan waterfall cascading through the jungle. You’ll have the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in one of the plunge pools formed by the waterfall.


After lunch, we head to an elephant camp. Enjoy an elephant ride along the jungle trails, and then return to the river for the next adventure - boarding a traditional bamboo rafts for a relaxing drift downstream, maneuvering your way along the River Kwai through the rain forest.

Day 06 - Kanchanaburi / Bangkok / Siem Reap via flight

 

Take a long tailed boat from hotel to a local pier and then, 3hours overland transfer back to Bangkok for flight to Siem Reap. 


Early evening, take part in a good luck blessing ceremony, performed by local monks at a local pagoda. Then, explore Siem Reap night by tuk tuk to experience Cambodia's nightlife. Walking through the food markets, enjoy dinner with local beers in beer garden, insect salad with cocktail, visit night markets, and beer in nice bar at Pub Street.

Day 07 - Siem Reap

 

Wake up early this morning and drive to the famous Angkor Wat, one of the modern wonders of the world for sunrise. 

 

Then, visit to the picturesque Ta Prohm. This beautiful temple is overgrown with fig trees, giving a haunting yet exotic atmosphere. Continue your journey to the royal city of Angkor Thom, Elephant Terrace and the Leper King Terrace with perfect carvings winding along a narrow passage way. Followed by taking a gondola boat onto the Tonle Oum leading to the south gate along with red and white wine and snacks during the sun is setting down behind the surrounding jungle.

 

This evening, enjoy dinner with Apsara dance performance

Day 08 - Siem Reap

 

Today, transfer out of the Siem Reap town to a beautiful village in the countryside, witness with very nice and different activities from the locals for their daily life. 

 

Enjoy a 30-minute ox-cart ride through the rice paddies to reach to your van for driving back to the town


Visit the Angkor Silk Farm in Siem Reap that is an extensive and well documented foundation that gives excellent insight into how silk is traditionally made in Cambodia.

Day 09 - Siem Reap departure via flight

 

Check-out of your hotel no later than 12:00 noon and transfer (approx. 30mins) to the airport for your onward flight to next destination or returns your home.
