BLI006: BALI CULINARY EXPERIENCE 7D6N

Day 01 - Arrive in Denpasar via flight 

 

Arrive in Denpasar, an airport personnel will meet you upon you step off the plane and will accompany you to go through the Immigration and Customs. 

Your guide is waiting outside of the luggage claim area in the airport. Transfer
(approx. 1,5hours) to your hotel in Ubud for check-in and overnight in Ubud.

Day 02 - Ubud 

 

Visit Taman Gili, also known as the island garden, and its historic museum. Built in 1710, the grounds are the former location of the palace of the Dewa Agung dynasty. 


Continue to Bali's most sacred place, Besakih Temple - Bali’s largest temple complex - which is located at the foot of Bali’s highest volcano, Mount Agung. Meet a local Hindu priest and receive a blessing. 


Return towards Ubud and visit a local home where a home-hosted meal is prepared for you by a local Balinese family. Enjoy Balinese food served in a local style and feel free to ask your host about their daily activities, customs and traditions.

Day 03 - Ubud 

 

With such a wide range of spices, herbs and fresh ingredients readily available, Indonesia’s cuisine is well regarded. Transfer to Ubud early and visit two very dedicated people who know all about herbs. Enjoy a walk with them through a large herb plantation. Learn more about farming here and how herbs are also used in traditional medicine. 


Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant in Ubud after which you meet a local chef who will introduce you to some typical Balinese recipes and his Balinese kitchen. Enjoy a hands-on cooking class. Learn more about the cultural importance food has in Bali and how it is offered to the Gods. Savor the meal you have prepared over dinner with the chef and receive a token to bring home.

Day 04 - Ubud / Lovina 

 

After breakfast, drive out of town to view the remarkable Tegallalang rice paddies which dramatically wind their way down the walls of the valley.  Meet with a local farmer and learn more about the rice cultivation and harvesting processes. You may want to help the farmer with daily farming activities and depending on the season, help harvesting or planting of rice. 


This afternoon, continue to Munduk and learn more about coffee productionIndonesia is the world’s 4th largest producer of coffee. Learn about the combination of Arabica and Robusta that is being produced here. Watch the local villagers processing the coffee and partake in the process. On the way, visit the picturesque Ulun Danu temple

Day 05 - Lovina / Seminyak 

 

After an early wake-up, take the boat into the Bali Sea where dozens of dolphins enjoy their early morning rituals and are not shy to come close to your boat. Return to the hotel for breakfast and then, drive south of Bali to view the magnificent terraced paddy fields and view Bali’s most photographed temple; Tanah LotHead towards Tabanan where lunch is served at a local family’s home in a typical Balinese village. After lunch, learn from the family how to make the typical Balinese offerings and offer your own creation to the family temple. Bid farewell to your host and back to Seminyak. 


This evening, enjoy the fruits of the sea at Balinese seafood BBQ.

Day 06 - Seminyak 

 

Enjoy a full day free in Seminyak. Go for a high end shopping spree, enjoy a rejuvenating spa or simply stay at the hotel to enjoy the facilities or nearby beach.

Day 07 - Seminyak / Denpasar departure via flight

 

Check-out of your hotel no later than 12:00 noon and transfer (approx. 30mins) to the airport for your onward flight to next destination or returns your home.
